Spring, Sun and Shoulders

Michael Dorian Bach

Spring is here and summer  is just right around the corner. It’s finally time to bring out the wheels again. I’ve been sidelined and bike-less for  about a year now due to a shoulder injury and I’m finally able to get back on a bike – even if it’s only for 15 minute rides. Just a couple more weeks of physical therapy and Whistler is looking more and more like a reality.

I wanted to get more time behind a bike and test out some new camera gear and with a few hours free today, I decided to head out to our local spot. Inspired by a post on Pinkbike on self-portrait photography, and only being able to ride 15 minutes at a time, it was the perfect thing to do. Lessons learned? Shooting yourself is wicked hard (3 hours of filming for 24 seconds for video), a year off is a reset, and I’m sketchy as hell with a lot of catching up to do. Justin and Derek – I’m coming for you guys. Enjoy your year head start.
